I did pop back to Gibraltar this morning but not worth posting details about here. En route I stopped at the Mirador El Estrecho to snap this photo of Morocco.
Los Barrios, just north of Algeciras, was described somewhere as 'quaint'. Well, I drove through it and there was nothing quaint about it, just a modern development that didn't deserve any more attention.
This was also the A381 'Ruta del Toro' (Bull Route)! A new road ran alongside the old road and attempted to draw you onto it at every junction. However if bulls is what you want to see (and I did) this is the place to see them!
This is where the majority of fighting bulls are bred and reared for their day in the Plaza de Toros!
as well as Andalucian horses used in that same arena:
and for completenes here is a bull farm entrance 'El Cortijo de Ajohiz':
I continued on round to Medina Sidonia, an old and very tradtional Andalucian town, and had a 'bocadillo de jamon y queso' (ham and cheese sandwich) and an americano coffee in a local bar. It was fiilled with workmen enjoying a lunchtime 'session' it appeared. One man had with him a small, tatty case full of cheap watches and other 'desirable' items. He was trying to sell them for a few pesetas but there seemed no takers.
I was hoping for some impromptu flamenco dancing or canciónes but regrettably none occured. You couldn't help but notice the raw, gutteral Andalucian dialect that lacked any refinement, nor was it to my ears very comprehensible. But a fascinating interlude nonetheless.

Then on to Vejer and Barbate an attractive and pine forested area before returning to the site for the last time.
140 relaxed and enjoyable miles today.
